Aries the Ram
Aries the Ram, according to Greek and Roman mythology, was a giant, winged ram known as Chrysomallus, also known as "The Ram with the Golden Fleece".According to the legend, Prince Phryus, son of King Athamus, was accused of causing a famine in the land by his stepmother. The prince leaped on the back of a ram and fled to Colchis. He was so grateful to the God, Zeus, that he sacrificed the ram as an offering to Zeus.
The fleece of the ram was hung in the temple of Zeus. The Golden Fleece eventually became the object of the quest for the Golden Fleece which was carried out by the infamous Jason and the Argonauts. Zeus was so pleased with the offering that he cast the ram into the heavens to become the constellation of Aries. Since then, Aries has ruled the constellations between 20th March and 19th April.
Aries is ruled by the planet Mars, which was named after the Roman God, Mars, the God of War. As such, it is not surprising that someone born under the sign of Aries, can be strong and assertive.
A horoscope that is cast to a person's date, time and place of birth can be astonishingly accurate. By obtaining the date, time and place of birth it is possible to find out exactly where the positions of planets, stars and other astral bodies were in the sky at the precise minute of your birth.
Aries is also a fire sign, and someone born under this sign can be exciting and dynamic. They can also be impatient and restless.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and Aries entered into the heavens on the spring equinox, so it is not surprising that Aries is a sign of new beginnings.
People born under the sign of Aries make natural leaders. They can also be impulsive and have an excellent sense of humour. Aries rules the head and as such can rush into things head on.
In relationships, Aries can be romantic but can also tend to be selfish. However, on the plus side, families and friends all know where they stand.
